Aamir Khan is one of the Bollywood’s greatest actors and is considered something of a marketing genius in Bollywood but the actor says it has been years since he charged nothing for his films.

Aamir Khan, who turned 53 on Wednesday, said if his films do well, he earns money and if they fail, he suffers losses.has revealed that he stopped charging fee for acting in films a long time back.

Actors are often blamed for charging a hefty fee for a movie, and like other actors Khans in B-town often charge an exorbitant amount of some hundred crores for a single movie. The bigger the star, the bigger is their fee. However, Aamir Khan is different form them all, may be that’s why he named as “Mr. Perfectionist”.

“I don’t charge a single rupee for my films,”  Aamir said. “It is my responsibility to take care that the cost is recovered and the whole crew has been paid. And when this is done, I get my share in profit. This gives me a sense of responsibility, of which you all can see the results.”  the PK actor said at an annual media interaction held on his 53rd birthday.

This question raised when veteran actress Shabana Azmi, who was sitting in the audience at the event, took the chance and asked him about stars demanding 80 per cent as their fee, and that how can one make a successful film with just 20 per cent left in hand.

Aamir elaborated his answer, that his way of earning money is different. He doesn’t charge a single penny until the makers have recovered all their costs of making of the film, including promotions to the producer’s profit.
