The ASUS ROG Phone launched, the fourth in a new generation of gaming-centric Android smartphones, is going to be compared a lot with the Nintendo Switch. And, to a lesser extent, the Nintendo DS.
It may also be one of the first gaming phones after the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play to come with actual gaming controls, something which shows the extent of Asus’s ambition.
ROG(Republic of Gamers), is Asus’s high-end gaming brand for their laptops and peripherals. Asus goes an extra step with its phone-edge interactions by giving players two so-called AirTriggers, residing in the spots of the usual shoulder buttons on game controllers. These are user-programmable and should help keep the screen clear of controls while gaming.
